TUNIS (Reuters), – The Tunisian Finance Minister Sihen Boghiri stated Wednesday that the initial discussions with the International Monetary Fund had been positive, and that Tunis is committed to repaying all of its foreign debts.

Tunisia is currently in the grips of severe financial crises and seeks to negotiate a loan agreement with IMF for reforms such as lifting subsidy payments or freezing wages.

Boughiri stated that Tunisia will repay foreign debts of 3.5 billion dinars (1.14 billion).
