(Reuters) – Jerome Powell has been nominated to serve a second term at the Federal Reserve chair by President Joe Biden. This is according to a timeline set out by Sherrod brown, Chair of Senate Banking Committee.

Asked the status of the Senate votes on Powell and a seocnd Fed nominee, Davidson College dean of faculty Philip Jefferson, Brown told Reuters that they could take place “either tonight or tomorrow. … I’m confident we’ll get them done by tomorrow.”

Brown stated that a packed Wednesday Senate agenda might push votes to Thursday. Bipartisan support is expected for both Jefferson and Powell.
