Japan April service sector sentiment improves

TOKYO, (Reuters) – Japan’s sentiment index for the service sector rose in April for a second consecutive month, a Cabinet Office survey revealed on Thursday.

According to the survey, taxi drivers and other hotel employees, also known as “economy observers” due to their close proximity to retailers and consumers, their optimism about economic conditions rose by 2.6 percentage points to 50.4.
