MADRID (Reuters) – Zara owner Inditex In an effort to promote the use of more sustainable materials, (BME:), has agreed to purchase 30% of Finland’s Infinited Fiber Company’s recycled fabric for three years.

Inditex stated on Thursday that this commitment will help Infinited Fiber to establish its first large scale factory in 2024. Inditex then plans to purchase Infinna’s premium recycled fiber, made completely from clothes waste.

Javier Losada (Inditex Chief Sustainability Officer) stated that “We are constantly working to find solutions” and is currently looking for partnerships, new processes, and materials in order to realize textile-to-textile recycle.

Zara launched also a limited-edition collection of Infinna fabric clothes.

Inditex announced earlier this year, that 47% (or more) of the garments it sold in 2021 were covered by its Join Life label. It means they are made from sustainable materials.
