(Reuters) – Naomi Judd was the matriarch of country music duo The Judds. She died from a self-inflicted shot wound a day after being inducted into Country Music Hall of Fame.

Judd was 76 when she suffered from mental disease, which tells victims that they aren’t loved or enough. Ashley Judd spoke out in an interview on ABC’s Good Morning America.

“Our mother was unable to hold onto her dignity until she was inducted by her peers into the Hall of Fame.” Ashley Judd (54-year-old actress) said that this was the extent of her inner devastation.

She used a gun. “Mother used a firearm,” she stated about the mother’s death. It was first reported April 30th.

Ashley Judd claimed she was disclosing cause of death to preserve “control” before the information became public.

Following news of an increase in gun deaths during the Pandemic, the revelations by the family were made. According to a Tuesday report by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, gun suicides were the most common cause of gun-related deaths in 2020.

Naomi Judd and Wynonna Judd, her daughter, were the founding members of The Judds. The singing, guitarist-playing pair was inducted into Country Music Hall of Fame at May 1st.

Ashley Judd found the body of her mother just minutes after she had hugged her mother during their visit to her Tennessee home. Ashley Judd claimed she went outside to see a friend, and returned inside to find her mother upstairs.

Ashley Judd stated, “I feel both grief and trauma” after discovering my body.
