SEC’s Hester Peirce says new stablecoin regs need to allow room for failure

Commissioner Hester Peirce — also known as the United States Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) “crypto mom” — has backed a regulatory framework for stablecoins that allows “room for there to be failure.”

Talking at an online panel Thursday HostedPeirce (a long-standing advocate of crypto) was asked to comment on U.S. regulations regarding the topic by Financial Think Tank the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum.
