BERLIN (Reuters). BERLIN (Reuters). U.S. Secretary Antony Blinken stated that he spoke to Turkey’s counterpart about concerns over Sweden’s and Finland’s membership in NATO. He also said that he felt confident that a compromise could be achieved after the meeting of foreign ministers on Sunday.

He said, “I don’t want to criticise the particular conversation we had with the foreign secretary or during the NATO sessions itself, but I can tell you this: I heard almost throughout the board, very solid support (for Sweden, Finland), joining the alliance,” after the meeting of NATO foreign minsters in Berlin.

“If this is what they want to do, then I have every confidence that we can reach consensus.”
