SHANGHAI, (Reuters) – Tesla (NASDAQ) Inc delayed a plan for restoring production to Shanghai’s levels prior to the COVID-19 lockdown. This was according to an internal memo that Reuters obtained.

The original goal of the U.S.-based electric car manufacturer was to produce 2,600 vehicles per day at Shanghai’s plant starting May 16. Reuters reports earlier this month citing another memo.

However, the memo states that for this week’s Shanghai plant it will only be working one shift with around 1,200 units of daily output. The memo also stated that the company would aim to boost output to 2,600 units daily starting May 23.

Tesla didn’t immediately reply to our request for comment.
