WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – A union representing Frontier Airlines flight attendants and Spirit Airlines (NYSE) announced it would support a proposal merger once it had reached an agreement for a transitional merger.
Sara Nelson, president of Association of Flight Attendants – CWA said that Frontier Group’s agreement protects flight attendant job… and opens the door to efficient contract negotiations which allows flight attendants experience the merger benefits as soon as they can.
JetBlue launched Monday a hostile, all-cash bid to acquire Spirit on Monday. This comes two weeks after Spirit rejected an offer by the bigger competitor.
