Meta, the parent company of social media giant Facebook (NASDAQ) may plan to launch a cryptocurrency-friendly payments platform.

According to documents submitted to US Patent and Trademark Office on May 13, Meta FiledMeta Pay will accept five applications from its nameake for use in the platform. The filings included Meta’s name for use in a “online social networking service for investors allowing financial trades and exchange of digital currency, virtual currency, cryptocurrency, digital and blockchain assets, digitized assets, digital tokens, crypto tokens and utility tokens.”
