WASHINGTON (Reuters] – A U.S. congressional probe into the Jan. 6th, 2021 attack on Capitol said on Thursday that it wanted to interview Barry Loudermilk, a Republican U.S. Rep. about a tour it believed he gave through the Capitol complex on the morning of the riot.
“Based on our review of evidence in the Select Committee’s possession, we believe you have information regarding a tour you led through parts of the Capitol complex on January 5, 2021,” the panel’s leaders told Loudermilk in a publicly released letter.
The letter stated that the leaders of the committee had sent a statement saying, “Public reporting, witness accounts, and some individuals engaged in attempts to gather information regarding the U.S. Capitol layout, as well the House and Senate offices buildings, in preparation for January 6, 2021.”
