American driving topped pre-pandemic levels in March -Breaking

REUTERS/Bing GaanWASHINGTON, (Reuters) – March saw a 2.9% increase in U.S. car ownership to 277.4 Billion miles. This is an improvement on the pre-pandemic 2019 level. Americans are returning to work and business and taking more leisure travel.
According to the Federal Highway Administration, motorists drove 277.3 billion miles in March. This is an increase of 7.9 billion miles compared with March 2021 and 5 billion more than March 2019. The total mileage logged by American drivers in the twelve months ended March is 3.27 trillion, more than any comparable 12-month period.
