REUTERS/Chris Wattie(Reuters) – Canada announced Friday that it would impose additional sanctions against Russian oligarchs, and ban the import or export of certain luxury goods targeted from Russia as a response to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
Official statements stated that the new measures will restrict 14 individuals, which include Russian oligarchs as well their relatives and close friends of Vladimir Putin.
Russian goods would be banned from import, including seafood and non-industrial diamants. While the export ban would ban luxury goods, such as shoes, clothing and jewelry, it would also apply to alcoholic beverages.
