REUTER(Reuters) – Seven nations including the protestors who walked out on Sunday of an Asia-Pacific trade ministers’ meeting in Bangkok, to protest Russia’s invasion of Ukraine said they supported both the organisation and Thailand.
In a joint statement, representatives of New Zealand, Australia, Canada and Chile expressed concern over the humanitarian situation in Ukraine.
The nations stated that Russia should immediately stop using force against Ukraine and withdraw its entire military forces unconditionally.
On Saturday, representatives from Australia, New Zealand and Japan joined U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai as they walked out of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting (APEC).
While Maxim Reshetnikov (Russian Economy Minister) was making remarks at opening the meeting of the Group of 21 Countries, the walkout happened.
A Thai official stated that the five delegations representing the countries who protested returned to the meeting once Reshetnikov had finished his speech.
