WASHINGTON (Reuters] – Tuesday’s primaries in Georgia and Alabama test former President Donald Trump’s influence over his Republican Party before the Nov. 8 elections.

Arkansas will also host nomination contests. Texas, on the other hand will hold run-off election for any races still unsolved by its March 1 primaries. There are seven races worth watching:

HERSCHEL WALKER’S U.S. SENATE BIDDING

Trump-backed Herschel Walk, who was a professional footballer but has little experience in politics, is likely to win the Georgia contest. He will face five other Republican candidates. He will have to face the second-place Republican if he is not able to get 50%. The Democratic senator Raphael Warnock will be the eventual winner. Many view the November election as a toss up.

DAVID PERDUE VS BRIAN KEMP

Trump-backed U.S. President According to polls, Georgia’s Republican governor Brian Kemp is heavily ahead of Senator David Perdue. Perdue may not be able to force a second round with Kemp. Kemp angered Trump by refusing to help him overthrow Trump’s state loss during the 2020 presidential campaign. Stacey Abrams (the lone Democrat running for her party’s nomination) will be the victor in an expected close race.

MORE REVENGE HICE VS. RAFFENSPERGER

Trump was also supportive of Brad Raffensperger as Georgia’s Republican Secretary-of State, in a race that mirrors Kemp’s. This is because he didn’t do enough to back up his false accusations that the 2020 presidential elections were stolen from him. Trump-endorsed U.S. Representative Jody Hyice, who is close to Raffensperger’s in recent polls could be Trump’s best shot at defeating an incumbent Georgian politician.

DEMOCRATIC FEL: BOURDEAUX, VS. MCBATH

Georgia’s new 7th congressional District features two Democratic U.S. Representatives. Two Democratic U.S. Representatives, Carolyn Bourdeaux (left) and Lucy McBath (right), are up against each other in Georgia’s 7th congressional district. Bourdeaux was only Democrat who was able to flip a Republican House Seat in the November 2020 Elections, and McBath, a gun control advocate, won a congressional seat. The 7th congressional district has a large Democratic population.

MO BROOKS HOLDS OFF

U.S. Representative Mo Brooks from Alabama is a Republican firebrand who has seen a recovery in polls before he attempts to return to U.S. Senate. Brooks, who was an early Trump supporter in the past, withdrew his endorsement for Brooks’ campaign. Brooks informed Alabama voters in March that Trump was making false claims about a stolen election and suggested it was time to end Brooks’s backing. Katie Britt was the former chief of staff for retiring U.S. Presidents. Brooks is making it an exciting race, although Senator Richard Shelby remains the favourite.

MODERATE DEMOCRAT AND PROGRESSIVE HALLENGER

U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar (Texas), a moderate Democrat will be against progressive challenger Jessica Cisneros during a party nomination contest. Neither received 50% of their primary elections on March 1. In November, the winner will face Jessica Cisneros in a race for one of Texas’ most competitive House seats. Cuellar, the House of Representatives’ only Democrat opposing abortion rights is Cisneros who has also attacked his opposition to legislation that would make it easier for workers and union representatives to be elected.

Will PAXTON LIVE FOREVER?

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is already a winner in a reelection contest since his arrest in 2015 for state securities fraud. After neither Paxton nor Bush won half of the primary vote, this time he faces George P. Bush, state Land Commissioner. Bush is George H. W. Bush’s grand-daughter.
