Tanker arrives in Venezuelan waters to discharge Iranian crude -document, data -Breaking

(Reuters.) – A tanker carrying Iranian heavy crude crude oil weighing approximately one million barrels arrived in Venezuelan waters in the last few days to deliver to its largest refinery. This was according to a Reuters ship tracking report.

Recently, Iran and Venezuela expanded their swap agreement from last year. They added Iranian heavy crude to Venezuela’s El Palito refinery in Venezuela and Paraguana Refining Centre (CRP). This was part of an effort at rehabilitating the facilities.

South American countries must immediately increase fuel production in order to prevent another gasoline or diesel crisis, as was the case in recent years. This led to long queues of delivery trucks and cars waiting at stations.

Iran-flagged Suezmax tanker Silvia I, owned and operated by National Iranian Tanker Company, arrived on Sunday to an anchorage area near Venezuela’s Amuay port, which serves the 645,000-barrel-per-day refinery, the document showed.

According to TankerTrackers.com, days earlier, the vessel had been seen on satellite photos near Venezuela’s biggest port, Jose terminal.

Refinitiv Eikon Monitoring data shows that the vessel left Khor Fakkan in the Gulf of Oman around April 1. It then switched off the transponder while navigating towards the Atlantic Ocean.
