Stripe has announced that it is working on accepting Bitcoin⁠ payments—four years after the global payment processor suspended support for the cryptocurrency.

Stripe Resumes Acceptance

Stripe has stopped accepting bitcoin payments since January 2018, citing its volatility and lack of efficiency, which rendered it unsuitable for daily transactions.

OpenNode, a bitcoin payments infrastructure company, announced the collaboration of the leading payment processor to enable businesses to exchange fiat money for bitcoin.

Businesses can access Bitcoin via the OpenNode app located in Stripe’s app marketplace. Stripe customers will have the ability to instantly convert their fiat money into Bitcoin through this app.

Conversion Automatic Fiat to Bitcoin

This app lets businesses set an amount that will automatically be converted to bitcoin when they pay. If they don’t want this feature, they can manually convert any amount of fiat into bitcoin they wish.

This application allows businesses to link directly with their bank accounts. It will allow them to make bitcoin transactions from any fiat device at anytime.
