U.S. Senate confirms auto safety chief -Breaking

© Reuters. WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The U.S. Senate approved President Joe Biden’s nomination to be the top regulator of auto safety. This is the first approval given since January 2017.
Steven Cliff, who has served as National Highway Traffic Safety Administration deputy administrator since 2021 was appointed by President Joe Biden to the top position last year. He was approved by the Senate amid rising traffic deaths in the United States.
