(Reuters) – Bubs Australia Ltd will ship 1.25 Million cans of baby formula to America to ease a national shortage. This was announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Friday.

According to the FDA, some of the infant formula is in stock and ready for transportation. More will be manufactured by the Australian firm in the weeks and months ahead.

Bubs’ supply is another imported item that FDA allows to enter the country as part its regulatory flexibility. It was allowed earlier in the month by FDA in an effort to alleviate one of most serious baby formula shortages.

This is partially due to Abbott Laboratories Michigan’s manufacturing plant recalls Similac products in February (NYSE:).

Abbott stated Tuesday that it will restart production at the plant on June 4th, adding that it would prioritise EleCare making and supplying EleCare on or around June 20.
