The State Department stated in a statement that Secretary Blinken had stressed the necessity of closing the investigation into the death Palestinian-American Shireen Ab Akleh.
According to the Palestinian Authority, Thursday’s investigation revealed that Abu Akleh had been shot in the head by an Israeli soldier as a result of a “deliberate killing.” Israel denies the accusations and says it is continuing its investigations.
