HOUSTON (Reuters] – National Rifle Association members overwhelmingly voted in confidence for Wayne LaPierre, the long-serving leader of the gun rights group. This was despite the lobby’s claims of misusing millions of dollars.

Houston, 280 km (450 km) away from the scene of Tuesday’s school shooting, was where an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle-wielding gunman killed 19 students and two teachers.

(The story was rewritten in order to rectify a typographical mistake in the first paragraph. The text will be referred to as “National” and not “Nation”.
