DUBAI (Reuters). Iran’s first two months in Iran’s year are 60% more than the year before (March 21-May 21), according to an Iranian official who spoke to SHANA on Sunday.

Although the official didn’t give any reason, the revenue jump is due to an increase in oil prices that nearly doubled in the past year because of the conflict in Ukraine as well as the post-pandemic global economic recovery.

The Iranian government said it continued to export oil, despite U.S. sanction re-imposed in 2018, after Trump pulled out of an agreement to restrict Iran’s nuclear programme.

The talks to revive the 2015 agreement, and to allow the removal of U.S. sanction have been held since March. This is due to Tehran insisting that Washington take the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps off the U.S. List of terrorist organizations.
