DUBAI (Reuters), Qatar Airways said Tuesday that it is prepared to resolve its dispute with Airbus regarding flaws in the protective skins of A350 wide-body aircrafts.

Qatar Airways has filed a lawsuit against the European planemaker in the UK for $1B in damages. The airline grounded around two dozen A350s because of the faults. Airbus, European regulators and Qatar Airways deny that the flaws pose safety risks.

Qatar Airways will see the matter through to trial in order to protect its rights and ensure Airbus addresses an unusual and very unique defect that impacts the A350 aircraft. This statement contains extracts of a written ruling by a judge.

Airbus said it was surprised by what it termed a “complete mischaracterisation” of the ruling, saying it had rejected Qatar’s requests for injunctions and awarded Airbus most costs.
