Brazil’s jobless rate drops to 10.5% in quarter through April -Breaking

SAO PAULO, Reuters – Brazil’s unemployment rate has fallen to 10.5% over the past three months. This is the lowest level since the beginning of 2016, according to IBGE statistics on Tuesday.

According to Reuters, the unemployment rate was higher than expected at 11.0%.

Brazil finished the quarter with 11.3million unemployed, 5.8% less than the prior quarter and a total 25.3% decline in the year.

This rate is lower than the 10.3% in February 2016 and April 2015 quarters.
