(Reuters) – TomTom is reducing its workforce by around a tenth globally, according to the Dutch digital mapping and navigation company. This comes as it increases its automation in mapmaking.

In a statement, it stated: “Regrettably this will have an impact on approximately 500 employees within our Maps unit.” The complete assessment of financial consequences of the Maps Unit reset is still ongoing.
