(Reuters) – Spellers ages 7-15 traveled throughout america and from as distant as Guam to compete on Thursday for the title of “Champion” within the 2022 Scripps Nationwide Spelling Bee.

The difficult phrases the spellers face vary from these with only a few letters like ‘luge,’ a small toboggan, to those who stretch by means of the alphabet like ‘scherenschnitte,’ a papercutting artwork type.
