Thai May headline CPI jumps 7.1% y/y, beats forecast -Breaking

BANGKOK (Reuters – Thailand’s headline consumer price indicator (CPI) increased faster than predicted by 7.10% in may compared with a year prior, according to Monday’s statement from the commerce ministry.
This compares to a forecast increase of 5.78% as per a Reuters poll, and follows April’s 4.65% rise. Core CPI Index was also up 2.8% from the previous year, beating expectations for a 2.2% increase.
