Following the Juni 4 Bored Ape Yacht Club Discord hacks, four additional Discord NFT communities had been compromised and phished. Four NFT communities were compromised: Apocalyptic Apes Squad, Apocalyptic Apes and Aiternate. Just two days after the BAYC hacks took place, hacks occurred on June 6.

Hackers used the same method of operation as BAYC Discord hackers. The hackers first take one of Discord moderators’ accounts and send spammy links via servers. After clicking on the links, users lose their NFTs and their wallets get compromised.

Officially, the NFT communities addressed the issue and advised its members to avoid clicking links that could lead to losing their NFTs. Bubbleworld, on the other hand, lost 160 NFTs. Apocalyptic Apes also lost 21 NFTs. Beanz, Mindblowon and CoolCats were among the NFTs that were stolen.

Hackers broke into the official BAYC Discord, taking 200ETH in NFTs and more than $350,000 (as of this writing). Many hackers have attempted to target BAYC many times by 2022. One example is an April Instagram hack that siphoned off users with over 130 NFTs, costing several millions.
