Callum Elliot, a Bernstein analyst, wrote a Tuesday note to investors. This was after James Quincey (NYSE:), CEO of Coca-Cola, attended its Strategic Decisions Conference last Wednesday.
According to the analyst, the company is optimistic and they see very few signs of pressure as the quarter progresses.
We expect another strong quarter in Q2. This positivity also matched the positive tone of other CPG companies like CLX, EL and MDLZ.
According to the analyst, Jamie Dimon was a “lonely man” in JPMorgan’s CEO role after making comments about an economic “hurricane.”
“For all the commotion after WMT/TGT’s 1Q commentary, it appears that pockets of weakness are still — for now at least — largely isolated exceptions,” wrote Elliot. We believe we have seen a shift in KO’s consumer engagement with the Real Magic platform. This has led to better engagement with younger consumers through Fortnite partnerships and fashion crossovers as well as limited-time flavors.
Elliot stated that there are signs of business momentum, and that management is continuing to implement the turnaround they have implemented over the last three years.
