Yellen explained to the Senate Finance Committee how economic research had shown that childhood events, such as shootings at schools, can have a lasting impact on the mental well-being of the involved and their participation in the labor market.
Yellen stated that “Ofcourse it has a detrimental impact on these people and our economy.”
