Raytheon to move headquarters to Virginia from Massachusetts -Breaking

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) –Raytheon Technologies Corp announced Tuesday that it would move its headquarters from Washington, D.C., to Arlington, Virginia. The company said it was doing so to increase its ability to service U.S. government, commercial and aerospace customers.
According to the Waltham-based aerospace company, defense and security firm, it has not sought or accepted any financial incentives in order to move closer the U.S. Capitol and Pentagon.
Raytheon (NYSE) plans to move its Arlington corporate employees in the third quarter. Currently, there are 130 people employed by Raytheon in Arlington. A spokesperson said that they don’t expect this number to increase significantly. He said that it will not have any impact on its Massachusetts operations.
Boeing (NYSE 🙂 Co stated last month it will be moving its headquarters away from Chicago to Arlington.
Boeing plans to build a technology and research hub in Arlington.
According to Dave Calhoun, Boeing’s Chief Executive Officer, “The area makes strategic sense to us global headquarters due to its proximity to customers and stakeholders and its accessibility to world-class engineering talent and technical talent.”
Raytheon, Boeing and other U.S. defence contractors are also based in Washington. Lockheed Martin In Bethesda (Maryland): Northrop-Grumman Falls Church, Virginia (NYSE:).
Raytheon announced today that the new Raytheon global headquarters will be located in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighbourhood, alongside Raytheon Intelligence and Space.
Raytheon also owns Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney. Through the merger of Raytheon, United Technologies Corp (NYSE )’s aerospace businesses, the company was established in 2020.
