SAO PAULO, Reuters – Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro cast doubt Tuesday on the victory of U.S. Presidential candidate Joe Biden in 2020. This just days before the Summit of the Americas begins.

Bolsonaro was a loud admirer and supporter of Trump.

As he supported Trump in 2020, Bolsonaro made allegations about U.S. election fraud. Bolsonaro also was one of the few world leaders who recognized Biden’s victory.

It is the American people who discuss it (election fraud). It is not my business to talk about the sovereignty or other countries. Bolsonaro claimed that Trump did a great job.”

He added, “We don’t want it to happen in Brazil.”

Bolsonaro currently trails Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, a former president of the left, in opinion polls before an October election. He has often questioned Brazil’s legitimacy for electronic voting.

Biden will meet the right-wing leader on Thursday, at the U.S. summit in Los Angeles.

According to the White House their first formal talks would cover many issues including food insecurity, climate changes, and COVID-19 recovery from pandemics.

Bolsonaro stated in an interview that he doesn’t believe Biden will attempt to “impose anything” regarding what he should do in order to decrease deforestation of the Amazon (NASDAQ;) rainforest. This has been increasing during Bolsonaro’s tenure.

Bolsonaro stated that the meeting could be a fresh start for U.S.-Brazil relations, however, this would hinge on Biden’s behavior during talks.
