REUTERS/Jorge SilvaBANGKOK, (Reuters) – The central bank of Thailand left the key interest rate at a record low Wednesday as per expectations. This supports a slow recovery in light of increasing inflation and global uncertainties.
4.3% of the Bank of Thailand (BOT) Monetary Policy Committee voted to maintain the one-day rate of repurchase at 0.50%. It has been there since May 2020 for 16 consecutive meetings.
In a Reuters poll, 20 economists predicted that the BOT will remain in place.
