ChristoKINSHASA, Reuters – The World Bank and Congo signed two financing agreements of $900 million each to support female entrepreneurship in East and West Africa.
These projects will be focused on Congo’s eastern and centralwest Kasai regions.
In a Tuesday statement, the World Bank Congo Director explained that “these operations complement a portfolio of operations focussed on reinforcing people capital and protecting vulnerable households – even women – against social-economic risks.” Reuters saw it Wednesday.
Humberto Lopez, the strategy and operations director of the World Bank for East and Central Africa (WB), made the deal at the conclusion of his two-day trip to Congo.
