It was stopped on Wednesday at 3:00 AM EST after an attacker exploited a vulnerability in the liquidity provider (LP), costing $5 million.
It was the first time that the bug appeared. RecognizedIn a Reddit posting on the Cosmos Network official page. The user, Straight-Hat3855, brought attention to a “serious problem” with Osmosis (OSMO) that allowed users to arbitrarily grow LPs by 50% simply by adding and removing liquidity. Reddit’s post was deleted quickly. However, it wasn’t before malicious actors made use of the bug. The Osmosis Exchange saw $5 million disappear from its liquidity pools.
