(Reuters) – The Netherlands antitrust watchdog said Saturday that Apple Inc (NASDAQ) would allow Dutch dating apps to accept different payment methods. This is in response to a dispute in which the company was fined 50 millions euros ($52.58million).

According to the Authority for Consumers and Markets, (AMC), Apple has met the requirements of the European Union and Dutch competition rules by granting this concession.

Since the in-app payment system was introduced by Apple, it has been mandated that developers use. Some Tinder users pay 30% commissions. Match Group Inc (NASDAQ) Have argued that they are too high.

Apple has not yet responded to Reuters’ requests for comment.

In the digital economy, the most powerful companies are responsible for keeping the market open and fair. Apple avoided that responsibility, and abused its dominant position vis-à-vis dating-app providers,” said Martijn Snoep, chairman of the board of ACM.

“We’re glad Apple is finally bringing its terms in line with European competition laws.”

Last year, the ACM found that Apple’s rules in relation to dating apps violated Dutch competition law and ordered Apple to permit third-party payment processors to be used by these developers.

Apple released rules Friday governing how dating app developers in the Netherlands could avoid Apple’s in-app payments systems.

According to the company, dating apps developers will continue to have their commissions paid for any sales that are not made through its in-app payment system. But they will get a slight discount.
