Gary Gensler is the head of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. He confirmed that his organization does not intend to ban cryptocurrency.
Responding to questions in a House Committee on Financial Services Hear on Tuesday, Gensler emphasized that prohibiting crypto does not fall within the SEC’s mandate, stating, “That would be up to Congress.”
