BEIJING (Reuters – Nearly 20% believe that the price of homes in China will rise during the fourth quarter, according to a report by the central bank on Friday.

Survey results showed that 19.9% of respondents believed that house prices would rise during the fourth quarter, while 12.7% expected them to decrease in Q4.

A separate survey of central bankers found that 82.5% thought Q3 was appropriate for monetary policies.

China’s home prices increased at a slower pace than usual in August. This was due to authorities intensifying efforts to control a hot property market. Cooling measures are expected to reduce home price growth in the future.
