Journalists in the Philippines and Russia win 2021 Nobel Peace Prize By Reuters

OSLO (Reuters.) – Maria Ressa from the Philippines, and Dmitry Muratov of Russia were awarded Friday’s 2021 Nobel Peace Prize.

At a press conference, Chairwoman Berit Reiss Anderson of the Norwegian Nobel Committee stated that “Ms Ressa” and “Mr Muratov” will be awarded the Peace Prize.

“They are also representatives of all journalists, who stand up to this ideal even in a world where democracy and freedoms of expression face ever more adverse circumstances,” she said.

On December 10, Alfred Nobel, the Swedish industrialist who established the Nobel Peace Prize in 1895’s will, will present the prize.
