BERLIN (Reuters). – Tesla (NASDAQ) has transformed its factory near Berlin into a stage and Ferris wheel for a day-long festival. The event was hosted by Elon Musk, CEO.

Expected to bring in tens or thousands of visitors, Brandenburg locals are given priority. The event’s official website says that the fair will open at 10 a.m. and that bands and DJs “keep the party going” until late in the night.

Musk hopes to be granted the go-ahead to begin production on the site within the next weeks. At its maximum, the plant will produce more than twice the amount of BEVs produced in Germany in 2020.

In addition, plans were submitted by the company to invest $5 billion ($5.8billion) in a new battery plant that will be located next to it. It surpasses Volkswagen’s (DE:) planned 40GWh site in Salzgitter.

Tesla has been reiterating to critics that Tesla will make Germany closer to its e mobility goals. But some locals are dissatisfied with Tesla’s unconventional approach, which they claim is in direct contradiction of German business culture.

Public concerns regarding the site have been closed for the last time on October 14. After this, the environmental ministry will make a decision about whether or not to approve the proposal. Brandenburg’s economic minister has estimated that approval chances are 95%.

The drone footage, which was posted on Twitter (NYSE 🙂 24 hours prior to the fair’s start, showed preparations in full swing. Sound checks, lighting tests, and festivals tents were set up alongside rows after Tesla cars.

Tesla was granted permission by local authorities to host 9,000 persons at once despite the fact that large groups are limited to 5,000 due to pandemic restrictions. The company presented a plan to keep COVID secure, and authorities approved it.

According to their entry ticket, attendees received a time slot for a 1.5 hour factory tour.

We invite you to visit our factory and walk along the production lines. The ticket states that you will have the opportunity to witness how tonnes of metal were melted, pressed, and assembled to make our Model Y.
