Copper, a cryptocurrency provider, said it welcomed Philip Hammond, former UK Chancellor as its Senior Advisor.

Today, the London-based company that provides digital asset custody and trade infrastructure in London announced that it has appointed Philip Hammond to its Senior Advisor role. According to Copper, ex-Chancellor Hammond will contribute strategic advice to the company’s global expansion efforts.

Copper has already announced plans for Asia and the US East Coast offices. This global expansion follows the June 2021 completion of a $75 million additional funding round. Dawn Capital led the investor venture capital round. Target (NYSE:) Global, Alan Howard.

Copper stated that Hammond will focus his efforts on the promotion of the UK’s position as a world leader in crypto. Note that Copper’s latest investment and growth throughout the last 18 months shows a growing appetite from institutional investors for cryptos.

Additionally, the company aims at connecting traditional finance to distributed ledger tech (DLT). This lays the groundwork and allows for all assets to be transferred onto DLT-based systems. It includes financial and real systems.

Hammond was, among other things, a British Conservative Party member as well as a Life Peer. From 2010 to 2019, he was one of three UK cabinet members. He also served as Prime Minister under Theresa May and David Cameron.
