National Transportation Safety Board, and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration both are looking into Tesla in an effort to find out if its driver assist features caused or contributed to accidents. In the Tesla 2021 year shareholder meetingLast week, a visitor asked Musk about his safety record.

He claimed he didn’t know but added:

Our safety score calculation is, of course, imperfect. It is therefore beta in safety score calculation. So, it’s going to get a lot of changes – yes, expect it to improve in its accuracy substantially over time. This is really just – it’s a very early stage algorithm.”

FSD Beta updates were also sent to FSD Beta users, who have had access since before safety scores were added by the company.

Tesla used to invite owners to its FSD Beta Early Access Program. However, they also gave them stark instructions to ensure that their personal experiences with the system were kept private.

Tesla requested that drivers who were granted FSD Beta Access earlier this year sign an agreement in which they agree to keep “your experiences in this program confidential” as well as not “share any information regarding this program with anyone” such as taking photos, posting on social media, and creating blogs posts.

CNBC received a copy from Tesla’s full agreement, which stated that Tesla had named Facebook, Instagram Reddit and TikTok as the sites where FSD Beta owners shouldn’t share information.

Tesla stated that owners of participating cars should not be used for Uber or Lyft while they’re enrolled. Tesla advised users to download FSD Beta to avoid losing their previous FSD software.
