Citigroup posted earnings per share (EPS) of $2.15 for revenue $17.15B. Investing.com polled analysts and predicted EPS at $1.74 for $17.06B revenue.
Citigroup shares rose 13% over the first of the year but are still below its 52 week peak of $80.29 on June 2. They are under-performing the S&P 500 which is up 16.18% from the start of the year.
After the publication, Citigroup shares saw a 0.84% increase in pre-market trading.
