Yellen calls for ‘strong action’ to boost data integrity at IMF, World Bank By Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters), – U.S. Treasury secretary Janet Yellen has called for international financial institutions to take “strong action” in order to improve accountability and protect data integrity.

In a statement addressed to the International Monetary Fund’s steering committee, Yellen also asked for international financial institutions making efforts to improve their whistleblowing protections and internal whistleblower systems.

She stated that the United States would closely follow developments and will evaluate all new facts and findings, if they are made available.
