White House to meet U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Business Roundtable ahead of vaccine mandate release By Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters] – President Joe Biden has announced that all private-sector employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19. The White House meets with representatives from influential trade associations, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The Office of Management & Budget (OMB) has set up these virtual meetings, with some scheduled for Friday and Monday, that will also include the Retail Industry Leaders Association and the National Association of Manufacturers among others, according to public filings.

Roger King (the group’s top labor and employment lawyer), said other influential groups, such as HR Policy Association. This forum represents the most powerful U.S. employers. They discussed Thursday the OMB mandate and stressed that businesses are interested in being a part of boosting vaccination rates.

Group members expressed concern that employers should have clear policies on many issues such as COVID-19 test alternatives for vaccination, record-keeping, confidentiality and confidentiality.

King stated that the HR Policy Association also pressured the administration for flexibility given their concerns about mandated vaccines causing labor shortages in certain industries.

King declared, “It appears that it is moving forward with warp velocity.”
