NEW YORK, Reuters – The top U.S. Food and Drug Administration official stated on Friday that they are considering lowering recommendations for booster shots of Pfizer/BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine. This is based on Israeli data suggesting that vaccine effectiveness is declining.

Israeli scientists provided “data that appeared compelling in the 40 and above age range,” said Dr. Peter Marks (Director of FDA’s Enter for Biologics Evaluation and Research), speaking before the FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee.
