(Reuters) – “Squid Game,” Netflix Inc’s largest original series launch (NASDAQ:), is valued at almost $900million, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday, citing internal Netflix figures.

Nine episodes of the thrilling thriller were made by cash-strapped contestants who play dangerous games to try and win $45.6 billion ($38.58 millions) in an attempt to become rich.

Bloomberg stated that the production cost of the show was only $21.4 million compared to its net worth.

According to the report https://bloom.bg/3lNzxGY, about 132 million had watched at least two minutes of the show in its first 23 days, easily breaking the record set by U.K. costume drama “Bridgerton,” which was streamed by 82 million accounts in its first 28 days.

Netflix previously announced that the show has 111 million viewers, but Bloomberg stated these numbers were based upon slightly older data.

Netflix, Los Gatos in California, estimated that 89% watched at least one episode and that 66% finished the series within the first 24 hours.

Netflix didn’t immediately reply to Reuters’s request for comment. Bloomberg was told by an attorney representing the company that Bloomberg should not disclose confidential information contained within the documents it reviewed.

It is the first Korean drama series to be featured on Netflix USA. This has sparked interest in Korean language learning.

A Beijing bakery introduced the Squid Game challenge to its confectionery in China where Netflix is not available without a VPN.

Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos called the series “impressive, inspiring” and gave positive feedback. Amazon Prime Video, a streaming service from Amazon, is competing with Netflix.
