(Reuters: Analysts anticipate Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:) to announce new Mac laptop computers equipped with faster processor chips in an event streamed Monday.
Bloomberg previously reported that Apple will release two new MacBook Pro models featuring 14-inch and sixteen-inch displays. Cupertino’s California-based firm introduced two new laptop models last spring that featured its Apple Silicon chips. It said they would gradually be integrated into their desktop and laptop lines over the next two years.
Apple’s best laptops relied upon chips before Monday Intel Corp (NASDAQ:). Although some MacBook Pros already have a M1 chip from the company, it has also been used in Mac Minis and iMacs. However, larger MacBook Pros will likely include a second chip that is more powerful.
Along with the increased sales of laptops, students and employees stocked up on hardware for learning and work at home, the new chip triggered a spike in Mac sales in response to the pandemic. Apple’s fiscal 2020 revenue rose by 11%, to $28.6 Billion. However, iPhone sales declined by 3%.
Apple has just redesigned its iPhone lineup, Apple Watch and iPad line-ups.
Analysts believe Apple will update the AirPods wireless headphones on Monday. However, rumors about an update circulated before other Apple events in this year. AirPods are a great addition to any holiday shopping list and they have grown to become one of Apple’s most popular categories. In Apple’s fiscal 2019, its accessories and home segment grew from 25% to $30.6 Billion to $27.6 billion.
