REUTERS/Brendan McDermid/File Photo(Reuters) – American Express Co (NYSE.) is allowing employees to work wherever they like for up to 4 weeks each year. This was announced by Stephen Squeri Chief Executive Officer in Monday’s memo to employees.
According to the memo, this will also include 15 days where employees can work in another country.
AmEx adopts a relaxed approach to work-from home than many of the major U.S banks. It has split its staff into three categories: hybrid, fully virtual, and onsite.
It stated that most hybrid model employees must work in an office for two days per week. Onsite workers can come in to work four to five days. The fully virtual employees can work at home.
A survey conducted earlier in the year revealed that nearly 20% of credit card issuer employees want to work almost full-time.
AmEx will be relocating its staff in Germany, the UK and America to AmEx’s offices beginning Jan. 24.
