Qatar emir appoints Al-Kuwari finance minister in reshuffle By Reuters

DUBAI (Reuters – Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani appointed Ali Bin Ahmad Al-Kuwari to the role of finance minister during a government reshuffle. This statement was issued Tuesday by an emiri court following the arrest of the former minister in May.

Al-Kuwari was the commerce and industry minister, and acting finance minister prior to the reshuffle.

Ali Sherif al-Emadi was his predecessor at the finance ministry. He was accused of embezzlement and was detained in May. Reuters was previously unable contact him during his time in custody.
